- Non-coated choline chloride is easily degraded by rumen microorganisms by 98.6% and produces toxic intermediate metabolites such as ethanal and trimethylamine.
- Non-coated choline chloride is easy to absorb moisture which leads to feed caking and make it difficult to be s mixed evenly in feed.
- The hygroscopicity of choline chloride results in loss of nutrients in feed. Studies have shown that after one month of storage, a pre-mix containing choline chloride experiences a 15% loss in vitamin A, 36% loss in vitamin K3, 30% loss in vitamin B1, and 5% loss in vitamin B2. After six months of storage, the losses increase to 42%, 100%, 73%, and 44% respectively.
